We are pleased to invite you to Bali, Indonesia for an in-depth educational course in CranioSacral Therapy (CST) Training, accredited by Upledger Institute International, Inc., the leading institution globally recognized as the originator & leader in providing world-class CranioSacral Therapy (CST) education as developed by Dr. John E. Upledger himself.
This 4 nights / 5 days course takes place at Lumeria Yoga Bali, an intimate sanctuary nestled in the heart of Ubud, Bali, Indonesia with lush jungle landscapes surrounded by coconut trees, tropical flowers, butterflies and birds, along a gentle natural stream. A truly peaceful and picturesque location to combine a retreat-style course with in-depth and hands-on training with leading CranioSacral Therapy Trainers.
What is CranioSacral Therapy?
Few structures in the human body have as much influence over its ability to function properly as the brain and spinal cord that comprise the central nervous system. And few systems have as much impact on the brain and spinal cord as the membranes and fluid that surround and protect them — the craniosacral system. Every day the body endures stresses and strains and the structures compensate. Unfortunately, these compensations can cause fascia to tighten and distort the craniosacral system, which in turn can put pressure on the brain and spinal cord. The result? A barrier to the healthy performance of the central nervous system — and potentially every other system with which it interacts.
More than 40 years ago, osteopathic physician John E. Upledger developed a set of gentle techniques to release those restrictions and imbalances. After years of university research and testing, he named his new method CranioSacral Therapy (CST).
Practitioners use a soft touch — roughly the weight of a nickel — to evaluate the craniosacral system. Specific techniques are then used to release any restrictions or imbalances they find, creating the best possible environment for the brain and spinal cord. This naturally helps eliminate the negative effects of stress, strengthens resistance to disease, and enhances overall health and well-being.
Why Study
CranioSacral Therapy?
Studying CranioSacral Therapy is not only an intrinsically rewarding path to pursue by itself, it’s also beneficial to add to your toolkit if you’re a physician, nurse, chiropractor, psychologist, initiative healer, masseuse, yoga teacher, healthcare or wellness professional.
CranioSacral Therapy is used to treat a range of ailments, from the physical to the neurological to the psychological. It has proven particularly effective in address a wide range of health complaints:
- Most common: stress, headaches, neck and back pain, TMJ
- More elusive: neurovascular and immune disorders, fibromyalgia and other connective-tissue disorders, ADD/ADHD, emotional difficulties
- Most challenging: brain injury and disorders, autism, motor coordination, physical birth defects.

The areas of focus will be on the skeletal & fascial system. You’ll also study theoretical concepts of craniosacral therapy, and practice highly specialized observational skills that help attune you to the client’s physical state and any underlying symptoms or issues.
Not only will you delicately manipulate the bones of the head and the base of the spine in order to restore an optimal, balanced flow of cerebrospinal fluid and other subtle energies within the body, you’ll learn to help others to optimal health on a much deeper level beyond the physical body.
Therapeutic Synergy
CST is an ideal complement to massage therapy. The techniques help practitioners refine their palpation skills and address soft tissues both intradurally and extradurally. It’s also so gentle on the hands that many massage therapists practice CST as their primary modality.
Neurological Benefits
Because CST works to improve central nervous system function, it can be a beneficial adjunctive therapy for those clients with neurological involvement, particularly children. One of CST’s principal benefits is its ability to reverse the effects of stress by providing conditions in which the central nervous system can rest and rejuvenate. Examples of such stress-related problems include insomnia, chronic fatigue, migraine headaches, poor digestion, anxiety and TMJ syndrome...
Chronic Solutions
CST also helps patients suffering from chronic symptoms that have not been relieved by allopathic approaches. These conditions include traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries, whiplash sequelae, motor-coordination impairments, chronic neck and back pain, scoliosis, emotional difficulties, learning disabilities, post-traumatic stress disorder, orthopedic problems and many other conditions.
Specialty Courses
With more than 40 unique course titles you can immerse yourself into specialty areas such as birthing, pediatrics, aging, immune response, brain injury and disorders, BioAquatic Exploration with Dolphins, and EcoSomatics Equines, among others. Added skills will build your practice, increasing revenue.
